#47: From Chelsea to HERALD Square

I do my usual thang and take you on a little binaural soundseeing tour leaving from the gym in Chelsea and walking up 6th Ave. to Herald Square and Little Korea on my way to join Jennifer and some friends for dinner. Plus a promo for a new podcast by a cutie and a LIVE recording of the cast of my current favorite musical Spring Awakening, singing "Touch Me" at their CD signing at the Virgin Megastore. GO SEE THIS SHOW!!!

More Spring Awakening Vids

I found a bunch of these great vids on You Tube. This one is from our local CBS2 station. These kids are amazing, and as writer Steven Sater says in the clip, when you see this show, you re-experience your adolescence, no matter how old you are.

Spring Awakening Cast at Virgin Megastore signing

How ironic that a show about the awakening of teen sexuality should be doing a CD signing at a store called "Virgin"!

#45: Chinatown, and a fruitless search

I go on a soundseeing tour of City Hall Park, Courthouse Row and Chinatown. I go in search of a knife bag and point out interesting things along the way in Lower Manhattan, From City Hall, the court buildings along Centre Street, the Bowery in Chinatown and The French Culinary Institute in SoHo.

This is the face of hatred

An Israeli woman in Hebron verbally harasses her Palestinian neighbors and calls the women whores in Arabic, while the Israeli officer assigned to protect them stands by and watches. The Palestinians are forced to live behind wire fencing, effectively caged, to guard themselves against the daily harassment and violence perpetrated against them even by small children.

Way to go lady, that's a great example to give your kids!

Jeffrey The Gay Expat joins me to discuss the recent incident in San Francisco involving the Yale singing group The Baker's Dozen. We talk about violence, homophobia, and the effect of privilege in the legal system. Thanks to listener Nancy Belt Wilson for bringing this to my attention and providing links.

#43: Audiophilia, QCast CT, and The L Word

I play with my new Edirol R-09 digital recorder, then chat with Michael from QCast CT about the return of some of our favorite TV shows, stinky NYC, and other geeky audio technic meta stuff. Plus, I wax poetic about my girls from The L Word.

Weird

I saw this thing on John Ong's website, and I thought I'd try it myself. Freddie Prinze, Jr did grow up in Albuquerque, so maybe there IS a connection. "Rookin' Gooooood!"
