Remarkably Mark #18

Remarkably Mark #18: History Channel Addict

Chef Mark has been watching lots of the History Channel, and he talks about 2 fascinating programs about the Bible and the Exodus. Banned From the Bible, which reveals the numerous gnostic gospels and other texts that have been excluded from the bible, and the implications to modern faith. Exodus Decoded makes an amazing case for a scientific explanation of the events of Moses' Exodus, and even makes a link between the ancient Hebrews and the Greeks.

I don't like Will and Boogie personally but I think their strategy is brilliant. I don't understand why everyone trusts them in spite of their openness about their dishonesty, so interesting really. I loved Janelle then I hated her now I like her again.

It just so happens I had Exodus Decoded on my TIVO and just watched it. It was fascinating. Too bad Banned from the Bible doesn't show up on the program guide. Hopefully it will pop up again soon.

Mark,

Great show! I also watched the Exodus on history Channel, it was really interesting. I will look for the shoe about the books banned from the bible - that also sounds fascinating. I saw something recently on the real "Jesus" where they talked about his brothers and talked abou how the Catholic Chuch does not recognize that Jesus had siblings.

The website I talked about www.sacred-texts.com has a wealth of information about all things religious and theological foerm all world faiths. There are undoubtedly articles about the supposed siblings of Jesus.

Did you ever get to see the finale of Treasure Hunters? I know who the winners are... I taped it but I may have recorded over it already, I'll have to check when I get home.
