Remarkably Mark #4

Remarkably Mark #4: A walk down Christopher Street

I walk down Christopher St. in the West Village, pointing out some of the historical and of course gay stuff along the way to get you up to date in time for next week's Pride Parade, which ends here. The Oscar Wilde Memorial Bookshop, The Stonewall Bar, Hartwick Seminary, Don't Panic, The Lucille Lortel Theatre and the Off Broadway Walk of Fame, the Archive Building, and the Christopher St. Piers along the Hudson are some of the highlights. I also talk to some queer youths.

Listener feedback from John Ong, Nik in Paris, Archer, Michael Sage Brian, and DaveinVA.

Music: "The Sugar Hill Shuffle", by DJ Jack Nielson. www.theAMstepper.com

Another great show...loved the sounds of the street. I think the guy from Will and Grace you saw was Bobby Cannavale. Not really my type either but I wouldn't put him out of bed. hehehe

Yeah, that's his name! If you like street sounds, we have plenty of those in NYC! (And I have lots of them recorded)

Mark -- Very nice podcast ... I first caught you via ArcherRadio, and now I listen to both of your podcasts over lunch when I can.

Your walking tour of Chelsea was informative, entertaining and fun ... And, like Archer, you bring a great sense of humor and friendliness to your program.

Finally, LOVED Katy Stephan--what a great song! (The Huey Lewis "Star Spangled Anthem" was also great -- I hate to be corny, but it brought a little tear to my eyes) ...

Keep up the good work!

AAHH, thanks Brian. I get sentimental about suff like that too, which is why I put that on.

Yes, Katy is wonderful, and I have permission from her to use any of her songs on the podcasts, so you will be hearing more from her. You can also go to www.every7days.com, which is Katy's project wherein she records and uploads a new song every 7 days. Like journaling, it's a way for her to create a sructure for songwriting, and seeing what comes out of it. Some are very experimental, and some more mainstream. Check it out.

Mark,

Thanks for some great material to listen to at the gym! Enjoyed the tour of 8th street and the music (especially star spangled banner) brings out my patriotism. Keep the great material coming no pressure...).

Great show.

Bobby Cannavale is definitely on my hot list. I have many types that I like. I'm an equal opportunity... whore? Well, it's not like I take a bite at them. My bf and I both enjoy all delicious menssssssss. (it's intentional, don't judge because I have small eyes! Whore!)

Mark,

Another great show. Everytime I listen to your shows I want to go/move to NYC. Keep it up.

Thanks for a great distraction while I am at the gym, you and Archer make it so much easier as I do my Cardio workout at 6 a.m.

Hope you are well.

Robert
